Massena Salvation Army

The Massena Salvation Army provides access to a food pantry, bread room, rent assistance, utility assistance and job training.

Potsdam Neighborhood Center

The Potsdam Neighborhood Center provides access to a food pantry as well as assistance with food and other emergencies such as utilities, fuel and shelter. The centers are staffed by a Director and provide services to low-income families with the assistance of community volunteers. Open Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm.

United Helpers

The United Helpers organization operates more than 25 retirement communities, nursing homes, and health care centers throughout St. Lawrence County, New York. It offers case management and intensive support services to mentally ill patients. It also provides a variety of home support services, such as housekeeping, meal preparation, personal care and transportation. St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services

The St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services provides temporary assistance to eligible individuals and families to help them with their basic needs until they can become self-sufficient. Toward that end, we have employment programs and other supportive services such as day care so that people can find and maintain employment. We also administer programs which can assist people with their medical expenses and nutritional needs.

Penski Inc.

Penski, Inc. serves to provide a connection between people seeking employment, and people seeking employers. Penski works to fill a variety of job openings throughout the North Country, ranging from direct hire placements, to on-trial placements, to temporary placements. Penski is a free service for job seekers, and tries to match people with professional areas of interest, and employment duration of interest (long term vs. short term).

St. Lawrence County One Stop Career Center

The St. Lawrence County One Stop Career Center provides the resources to help one find jobs in the local area. Their mission statement states: The mission of the St. Lawrence County Workforce Development Board, as a partnership of private and public community resources, is to ensure the economic vitality of our county by building and maintaining a quality workforce development system that strengthens and provides economic, educational, and developmental opportunities for all citizens and employers. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Office for the Aging

The Office for the Aging provides service and advocacy for county residents 60 years and older. Programs and services includes: Nutrition Centers and Home Delivered Meals; Home Care Services; Family Caregiver Support; Senior Community Service Employment Program; Medical Transportation; Legal Services; Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance.
